SURVEY AND PETITION

REDUCE THE BUSINESS BURDEN

Support us in our campaign to reduce the business burden - one change, not two.

We are calling on the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) and UK Government to delay compulsory implementation of the revised FRS 102 until the Modernising Corporate Reporting consultation process and outcomes are concluded.

We strongly believe that implementation of the revised FRS 102 should be delayed while the Government decides what comes next. Any change to accounting standards or legislation places significant time and cost burdens on UK small and medium-sized businesses.

Simplification should not begin by requiring businesses to implement two successive rounds of complex change.

Should mandatory implementation of the revised FRS 102 requirements be delayed until the Government has decided the future shape of SME financial reporting?
How prepared is your practice or business for revised FRS102?

Even if the FRC will not delay implementation for all companies applying FRS 102, should it be considered for small companies (proportionately more affected) where the delay would be a really straightforward way to immediately reduce the burden?

PETITION FOR CHANGE: We call on the FRC and UK Government to delay the compulsory implementation of the revised FRS 102 until the Modernising Corporate Reporting consultation has concluded and its findings have been considered. This is so that businesses are not required to incur potentially significant time and costs implementing changes that may subsequently be simplified, revised or reversed.
